This didn't work in my remote linux shells; instead, these sequences worked better (found elsewhere):
Key Escape Sequence Home \033OH End \033OF The O's are captital as in OOPs, they are not zero's. This is straight from termcap for xterm and works for both the bash shell and vi/vim Comment (1)
Thanks Keith! You have no idea how long this has bothered me (yet not enough to fix it). I've literally been frustrated with this for years, and just accepted vim not working right with home/end keys. Glad to see there's a good way to fix it so everything works nice and happy.
