Hi Keith,

I have tried, but it is not working. The extension that I was using is .ris which is recognized by endnote program. Can you help me in doing this with .ris files.

Thankyou.
Thanks Keith! You have no idea how long this has bothered me (yet not enough to fix it). I've literally been frustrated with this for years, and just accepted vim not working right with home/end keys. Glad to see there's a good way to fix it so everything works nice and happy.

Seriously... thanks for posting this!

This didn't work in my remote linux shells; instead, these sequences worked better (found elsewhere):
Key Escape Sequence
Home \033OH
End \033OF

The O's are captital as in OOPs, they are not zero's. This is straight from termcap for xterm and works for both the bash shell and vi/vim

They only released Centos 5.5 in the last few days! It could be a long wait I think

Also, the pedant within me couldn't really resist pointing out your minor typo:

apt is to .deb as yum is to .rpm.
dpkg is to .deb as rpm is to .rpm.

In other words, comparing rpm to apt is a little unfair.

From a bit of very quick tinkering, it looks like s9y supports the MetaWeblog protocol using XMLRPC, and there are a good few clients that also support this. MarsEdit would be my primary choice. It costs money, though ($29.95).

Its not recommended to make the socket world writable as from what i've read doing so would compromise the security of cgi scripts, that's why its set by default to mode 0700 and owned by the webserver user.
Also, the permissions on this file get reset to 0700 when the webserver starts up, so its by far easier just to switch to mod_cgi, which doesn't use the socketfile.
